Tockwotton on the Waterfront is proud to announce that we have achieved the QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement) Basic Distinction for the second year in a row. Our partners at HealthStream provide a quarterly review that helps us identify opportunities to improve care to our residents. By meeting the QAPI excellence standards, we can ensure that we are upholding our legacy of high-quality patient-centered care. 

The standards for QAPI Excellence include:

  • Comprehensive: Addressing all aspects of quality of care and life for nursing home residents, based on resident-centered assessments obtained from residents, family, observation, staff, and records.
  • Continuous: Conducting this process over the course of the entire prior year of your distinction rather than just when problems arise.
  • Coverage: Assessing a sufficient number of residents, ensuring that the care and services provided are consistent throughout our organization.
  • Corrective: Following through with in-depth investigation of identified and prioritized areas for improvement and developing system-wide solutions.

HealthStream also recognized Tockwotton on the Waterfront as one of the 2022 Embracing Quality Award: Customer Service winners. This award is based on resident and family interviews that HealthStream collects from care communities in both the US and Canada. Our survey results are then compared against the other 19,500 resident interviews and 16,500 family interviews. 151 communities are then identified based on absolute criteria for extremely high performance.
